  • Type: Code list
  • Codes:
    • ACRU = Acer rubrum
    • ACSA = Acer saccharum
    • BEPA = Betula papyrifera
    • PIST = Pinus strobus
    • POGR = Populus grandidentata
    • POTR = Populus tremuloides
    • QURU = Quercus rubra
  • Missing values: None specified

,
[YEAR]_DBH(0.1_inch)

  • Label: [YEAR]_DBH(0.1_inch)
  • Definition: Year-wise tree dbh measured to 0.1 inch
  • Type: Physical quantity
  • Unit: inch
  • Maximum: Not specified
  • Minimum: Not specified
  • Precision: 0.1

,
Count.saplings

  • Label: Count.saplings
  • Definition: The species-wise count of trees above 1 foot tall, and below 4.5 feet tall
  • Type: Nominal
  • Missing values: None specified

Methods:

In 1969, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, and 1998, DBH values for every tree above 4.5 feet tall were recorded. In years except 1979, 1983, and 1988, the species-wise counts of saplings >1 ft tall were also recorded (except plot 105). NEED VERIFICATION FROM BVK RE: SAMPLING METHODS.
