Abstract

This report deals with some of the effects of controlled burning on regeneration of aspen stands by root suckers. It is the result of preliminary research with fire done at the University of Michigan Biological Station. The study will not attempt to furnish final answers regarding the use of fire in aspen regeneration. Rather, its purpose is to provide a basis for further research in this field.
