Methods:
A Sigma Space Mini MPL (micro-pulse lidar) will be installed at the platform at the PROPHET laboratory and tower site. The instrument will be deployed before or at the beginning of the spring (tree) pollen season at UMBS and will be active for the duration of the spring pollen season (until mid-July). Data will be analyzed to obtain backscatter curtain plots, from which pollen transport within the boundary layer above the lidar can be inferred. The results of the lidar measurements may help to constrain and/or evaluate the pollen emission and transport model that has been developed as a parallel component to this research.
