Investigating Water Vapor Transport in Disturbed and Undisturbed Sites

Project Abstract:
We study the effect of forest structure on water vapor transport. Specifically we monitor the isotopic composition of water vapor in the forests surround the FASET and AmeriFlux eddy covariance towers to better understand hydrologic dynamics in the forest.

Methods:
We deploy cavity ringdown spectrometers at the FASET and AmeriFlux sites to monitor the isotopic composition of water vapor. At each site samples are analyzed at 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30 m above the forest floor to construct vertical profiles of water vapor transport and mixing.
