Site History:

Delores Louwers from Farwell called up in November, 2007 (989 588-9788) asking about the naming of Douglas Lake. She says her great grandfather, Joseph, was a carpenter on the lake and that family tradition has it that the lake was named for him. He came originally from Canada and his name was Dugas. Additional notes and pictures of the Douglas homestead in Hebron township on file.
