Site History: 

Cheboygan Daily Tribune, Tues., Oct. 22, 1996: The existing dam failed, draining the marsh, and it is recommended that the dam be replaced. This happened the fall of 1996. It was drained on purpose in 1976 or 1977. The dike was built in 1959 or 1960.
