Abstract: 
Data were collected by a team of researchers during the UMBS bioblitz, conducted on 22 July 2023. The sampling design for aquatic macrophytes and diatoms were intended to be easily repeatable with similar effort (two teams, each with a pontoon) using the double-headed rake method to sample macrophytes. Diatoms were primarily collected from macrophyte leaves, and slides prepared by Robert Pillsbury and Nuphar Rimer. Aquatic macrophytes were identified by Susan Fawcett, Brad Ruhfel and Paul Moore.

Purpose: 
To provide a snapshot of aquatic plant diversity in Douglas Lake with a clear sampling design that could be easily repeated.
