Abstract | As part of a comprehensive inventory of the natural features of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore requested by the National Park Service and carried out by the University of Michigan Biological Station, this report deals primarily with the botanical features of the approximately 27,500-acre federally owned shoreline zone. Only the vascular plants (i.e. pteridophytes and spermatophytes) have been catalogued in this report, which also includes discussion of the major vegetation types, the phytogeographical significance of certain plants found in the park, and a brief history of botnaical interests in the park. |
