Abstract | During the summers from 1941 to 1974 at the University of Michigan Biological Station, ornithology students and staff gathered information on prey taken by the Goshawk, the Sharp-shinned, Cooper’s, Red-shouldered, Broad-winged, and Marsh Hawks. From the remains of prey in nests, from pellets, from stomach contents, from direct observation, and with the use of a time-lapse camera, a variety of vertebrate prey were identified. The use of the time-lapse camera more correctly reflected the variety of species that did the other sources. |
