Abstract

To place the current progress of Piping Plover recovery in appropriate historical context, we compare the size and distribution of the Michigan Piping Plover population during three time periods spanning approximately 100 years: 1903-1956, 1979 and 2007. Additionally, we discuss threats to population persistence.
