Abstract | In a previous publication we defined the type section of the genus and presented a treatment of the species known to us at that time. In the interval since that paper appeared we have continued our study of these boletes, and during the summer of 1967, Smith and Thiers had the good fortune to encounter a heavy fruiting of them in the northwest corner (literally) of Montmorency County in Michigan. Valuable information on the fruiting habits of the species as well as information pertaining to their classification was obtained. This material has been supplemented with specimens from Idaho which also belong in this section. |
