..As far as we are aware, no sustained investigations have been made on the winter birds of this region. Consequently, when the opportunity arose to spend a complete cycle of the seasons at UMBS we resolved to lay a partial foundation, at least, for future work along these lines by recording dates of apparent departure and arrival of migratory species, and by various observations on the winter birds.
