Observations are reported from six veery nests in Cheboygan county, Michigan, made from 1956 to 1959. One nest was under study from the beginning of incubation to fledging; five others were studied from the latter part of incubation to fledging. A seventh nest was abandoned at the time it was discovered. Three of the nests were on the ground, and four were elevated, the highest being at 49 centimeters. Four of the nests contained cowbird eggs, two to a nest. The incubation period was not less than 11 days. The nestling period varied from nine to eleven days. It appeared that the female only incubated and brooded, and the both parents participated in feeding. Data on attentiveness and frequency of feeding are presented. Of the veeries, 60% fledged, and of the cowbirds, 75%. Vocalizations are described. An account is given of nine attacks made on one nest, during a two hour period, by a garter snake.
