Abstract

Four of 68 Natrix sipedon examined during two summers in the protozoology laboratory of Dr. James H. Barrow, Jr., at UMBS showed a condition that suggested the genera Cytamoeba and Toddia. In stained smears, 30 to 50% of the red cells contain basophilic bodies that suggest Cytamoeba and coboidal crystal-like acidophilic bodies that suggest Toddia.
