During the seasons of 1946, 47, 49, and 51 the writer collected fleshy fungi intensively in the northern tip of the southern peninsula with headquarters at the University’s Biological Station on Douglas Lake, and in 1949, during late August and on into September, made frequent trips to the Tahquamenon Falls State Park in the Upper Peninsula. During the season of 1951 from late June to the middle of September, weekly trips were made to the Tahquamenon Park because its flora, previously, had been found to be of exceptional interest.
