Abstract | The purposes of this paper are to describe, illustrate, and quantify the natural variation of morphological and phenological characteristics in local populations of trembling aspen, Populus tremuloides Michaux and bigtooth aspen, P. grandidentata Michaux in northern Lower Michigan and to show how variation within and between clones may be used to separate members of naturally occurring clones. |
