Abstract

Artificial fish shelters installed in 1937 in Douglas Lake, Michigan, have aided in the establishment of aquatic vegetation in and around them. A gradient of plant density exists, in which the shelters proper contain the most vegetation and the density decreases as distance from the shelters increases.
