During the summer of 1946, I was a member of a collecting party from the UMBS, that went to Bois Blanc Island, Michigan, in the northern part of Lake Huron. I collected, along with many other forms of reptiles and amphibians, a very red Thamnophis S. sirtalis, quite distinct from the usual color variations of this snake.
