Abstract | Kirkaldy described the above under the name Brachymetra bakeri from a single female specimen that came from Colombia, S. A. The specimen was 13 mm long, twice the length of Brachymetra albinervus (Am. Serv.) with which he compared it. The following year he examined two more specimens (2 males Ecuador) from the royal Museum of Belgium and concluded that a new genus Charmatometra should be set up for B. bakeri Kirkaldy. Since then Drake and Harris, 1935, recorded an apterous female from Bogota and in 1941 "several specimens from Venezuela" without adding to or correcting Kirkaldy’s original description. |
