Abstract

A careful consideration of carbon management needs to be grounded in the context of overall management goals, specific forest type, existing species age classes, site productivity, time scale, spatial scale, and carbon life cycle analysis. Carbon management encompasses more than just consideration and management of the carbon in boles of live trees; it includes branches, understory, belowground carbon, and the ability to accurately estimate these things.
