Considering the collective time spent in these spots of Upper Michigan where the Cape May should be nesting–if it nests at all regularly in the state–one can imagine our astonishment at the Biological Station in 1971 when we discovered the species nesting practically in our backyard–in Reese’s Bog, Cheboygan County, just three miles from us.
