Abstract

A new species of Scherffeliomyces, S. leptorrhizus, is described. The relationships between the genera Coralliochytrium and Scherffeliomyces are discussed, and it is proposed that the genus Coralliochytrium be merged with Scherffeliomyces and that C. scherffelii be assigned the binomial, Scherffeliomyces scherffelii. The limits of the genus are discussed in the light of this proposal.
