Abstract

During the early part of August, 1947, several collections of Blepharostoma trichophyllum bearing both gemmae and perianths were found growing intermingled with Lepidozia reptans on rotton logs in Reese’s Bog, near the UMBS, Cheboygan County, Michigan. The gemmae are apparently only rarely produced and although several references have been given of their occurrence, there appears to be no accurate detailed account of their formation.
