The disturbance of vegetation occasioned by the laying of a pipeline across the state of Michigan has presented an opportunity for observations on the comparative revegetation of thoroughly denuded areas in the various major vegetation types in the vicinity of UMBS (Emmet and Cheboygan counties, in the northern Lower Peninsula).
